ચાલ, વરસાદની મોસમ છે
વરસાદની મોસમ પૂરબહારમાં ચાલી રહી છે. આકાશનું હેત જ્યારે ધરતીને અનરાધાર નવડાવતું હોય ત્યારે પ્રણયભીનાં હૈયા કેમ કોરાં રહી જાય ? વરસાદમાં એકમેક પર વરસવાની સાથે સાથે પ્રેમ માટે હજુ વધુ તરસતાં જવાનું કહીને કવિ સંવેદનાને અનોખી ધાર કાઢી આપે છે. વરસાદ બુંદોથી સ્પર્શે તો કવિ કવિતાથી કેમ નહીં ? સાંભળો આ સુંદર રચના.

ચાલ, વરસાદની મોસમ છે, વરસતા જઈએ,
ઝાંઝવા હોય કે હોય દરિયાવ, તરસતા જઈએ.
મોતના દેશથી કહે છે કે બધાં ભડકે છે,
કૈં નથી કામ, છતાં ચાલ, અમસ્તાં જઈએ.
આપણે ક્યાં છે મમત એક જગાએ રહીએ,
માર્ગ માગે છે ઘણા, ચાલને, ખસતાં જઈએ.
સાવ નિર્જન છે આ વેરાન, બીજું શું કરીએ,
બાંધીએ એક નગર, ને જરા વસતાં જઈએ.
તાલ દેનાર ને પળ એક મૂંઝવવાની મઝા,
રાગ છેડ્યો છે રુદનનો, છતાં હસતાં જઈએ

વિષાદ ભરેલા આ વાદળોમાં આશાઓની વિજ તો ચમકે છે; પણ ડર તો હજુએ મને ક્યાંક અશ્રુઓ તો નહિ ટપકે ને?……. પ્રેમિઓને હંમેશા ડર સતાવતો હોય છે.

I love Harindrabhai’s ghazals and songs but for some reason this is not my fav ghazal. The reasons are several but the first and foremost is that the kafias seem forced and are very loosly applied. Except for the first stanza the rest of the ghazal is flat and hardly achieves anything poetically. One of my fav ghazal from this ghazalkar is:
Dariyo rahi gayo ne kinaro nathi rahyo
Hu pan tamari yad man maro nathi rahyo

No matter who says what about this gazal, I like it very much. I am hearing this type of gazal in USA after many many years.
