વૈષ્ણવજન તો
ગુજરાતના આદિકવિ નરસિંહ મહેતાએ રચેલું અને રાષ્ટ્રપિતા મહાત્મા ગાંધીનું અતિપ્રિય ભજન ભાગ્યે જ કોઈ ગુજરાતીએ નહીં સાંભળ્યું હોય. વૈષ્ણવ જન એટલે કે વૈષ્ણવ સંપ્રદાયના નહીં પરંતુ પ્રભુના ભક્ત. ભજનમાં એક આદર્શ માનવ અને આદર્શ ભક્તના લક્ષણો વર્ણવવામાં આવ્યા છે. આ ભજન ગાંધીજીની સાંય પ્રાર્થનામાં અચૂક ગવાતું. સાંભળો લતા મંગેશકર, મન્ના ડે તથા આશિત દેસાઈના સ્વરોમાં.

વાચ કાછ મન નિશ્ચલ રાખે, ધન ધન જનની તેની રે… વૈષ્ણવ જન
સમદ્રષ્ટિને તૃષ્ણા ત્યાગી, પરસ્ત્રી જેને માત રે.
જિહ્વા થકી અસત્ય ન બોલે, પરધન નવ ઝાલે હાથ રે… વૈષ્ણવ જન
મોહ માયા વ્યાપે નહિ જેને, દ્રઢ વૈરાગ્ય જેના મનમાં રે.
રામ નામ શું તાળી રે વાગી, સકળ તિરથ તેના તનમાં રે… વૈષ્ણવ જન
વણલોભી ને કપટરહિત છે, કામ ક્રોધ નિવાર્યા રે.
ભણે નરસૈયો તેનું દર્શન કરતા, કુળ ઈકોતેર તાર્યા રે… વૈષ્ણવ જન

વાહ કેવું સરસ ભજન મૂક્યું છે. આવા બીજા ભજનો પણ મૂકજો. અને હા, મેડમ તમારી પાસે જેસલ-તોરલ ફિલ્મના ગીતો-ભજનો હોય તો મૂકજો. બહુ જ સારો પ્રતિભાવ મળશે.

વાહ્. વાહ.. શુ કહુ મારી પાસે શબ્દો નથી કેવા શબ્દોમાં તમોને અભિનંદન આપુ. શબ્દો નાના પડશે. તમોએ ગુજરાતીઓને તેના ખોવાયેલા મોતી આપ્યા છે, ખોવાયેલુ હાસ્ય બચપનનુ, આજે ફરી તેજ મુખે જોવા મલ્યું છે.

If you have ‘Vaishnav jan to tene re’ version by Hemant kumar pl. post it. It may recorded around 50 years back on 78 rpm.

સરસ ભજન. જો તમારી પાસે પહેલા પહેલા જુગમાં રાણી અમે પોપટ તમે પોપટી રાજા રામના હોય તો મૂકજો.
